Is the globe the shade or the base?

The base. A solid sphere of wood sits directly on the surface and carries the whole lamp; the shade above it is a tall narrow cylinder of white fabric, not a globe. If you are looking for a round glass shade, this is not that lamp.

Does a sphere sit steady on a table?

Yes. The sphere is flattened where it meets the surface, so it rests on a small circle rather than on a point, and the piece weighs 5 kg with nearly all of that weight in the wood at the bottom. It is still a lamp to keep away from the edge of a console.

Why is it so tall for a table lamp?

68 cm tall on a 20 cm shade is a stretched proportion on purpose. It lifts the light well above the clutter on a console or a sideboard without taking any more surface than a small bowl, which is the opposite trade from a wide shade on a short base.

What is the difference between the two finishes?

Two practical things follow from the shape. The first is placement: the lamp weighs 5 kg with almost all of that in the wood at the bottom, which makes it stable, but it is 68 cm tall, so keep the sphere back from the front edge of a console and run the cord where it cannot be caught. The second is the bulb. The shade is a narrow cylinder rather than a cone, so a compact E26 or E27 lamp sits inside it cleanly while a wide globe bulb crowds the sides; the bulb is not supplied and a warm tone suits both the white fabric and the wood. Returns and Refunds

How do I return an item?

You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return on eligible items. To start, email us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and the reason for the return, and we will send you the return address and instructions. Items must be unused and in their original packaging.

Do I have to pay for return shipping?

No. On approved returns, we provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you. Please note that a return should never be sent to the manufacturer's address; only to the address our team provides.

I received a damaged or defective item. What should I do?
