The Rod Is Thinner Than the Cord Would Be, Which Is Why the Ball Appears to Float
A cord sags and draws a visible line down from the ceiling. This fitting uses a rigid metal rod barely thicker than a pencil instead, so the opal glass ball below it reads as though it were suspended on nothing. The glass is dense enough to hide the lamp from every angle and the light arrives even in all directions, which is what makes a row of these work above a counter or a long table. Two widths, 7.9 and 13 inches, in black or gold.
