The fitting lit in a dark room above a brown sofa beside a sunburst mirror

This Fitting Needs a Dark Wall Behind It to Read as a Hanging Metal Drape

Polished steel chain works by contrast. Against a dark wall each link picks up a highlight and the curtain reads as a hanging fabric of light, which is the effect the whole design is built around. Against a pale wall the same chain turns into a grayish haze and the petal discs above it lose their edge. Decide the wall before you decide the size.

Questions about this product

Everything you need to know about this product.

Is there any crystal in it?

There is none. The material is stainless steel and chain, and no crystal is visible in any photograph. The sparkle comes from polished steel links, which hold their shine without the cleaning crystal needs.

How bright is it?

Nineteen G9 lamps behind a chain drape give a lot of small highlights and not much downward light. Write to us and we will send you the wattage and the output in writing.

Which size is actually the tallest?

On paper the smallest, at 37.4 inches against 31.8 for the medium, which looks like the width and height were swapped in the published table.

Does it suit a pale room?

Less than a dark one. Polished steel chain needs contrast behind it to read as a drape rather than as a blur, which is why it is always shot against a dark wall.

How do I clean the chain?

Lift a section at a time and go over it with a soft brush or a dry cloth. Never pull a strand and never run a vacuum near it. In a dusty room plan on doing it twice a year.

Does it dim?

A dimmable build is offered on request. Since the lamps are standard G9 and included, dimmable lamps on a compatible dimmer are the other route.

Nineteen Lamps Sit Above the Chain Rather Than One Source Behind a Shade

A shade puts one lamp behind a diffuser and sends the light down. This puts nineteen small lamps in a ring above a curtain of chain, so almost none of the light travels straight to the floor: most of it is caught, split and thrown sideways by the links on its way through. The room ends up lit indirectly, with a great many small bright points at the fitting itself. It is an effect, not a working light, and a table underneath will need something else doing the real work.

Frequently Asked Questions

Shipping & Delivery

How much does shipping cost?

Shipping is free on every order, with no minimum purchase. The price you see at checkout is the price you pay for delivery.

How long before my order ships?

Orders are typically processed within 1 to 2 business days after payment. We keep a short 24-hour window before processing so that you can adjust or cancel your order if you need to. Our team places orders with our warehouses Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays.

How long does delivery take?

Once your order has shipped, it is usually in transit for about 7 to 10 days. This is an estimate and can occasionally be longer depending on the destination country and the carrier handling your parcel.

How do I track my order?

As soon as your parcel ships, we send you an email containing a tracking link so you can follow its progress. If you do not see it, please check your Spam and Promotions folders.

Returns and Refunds

How do I return an item?

You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return on eligible items. To start, email us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and the reason for the return, and we will send you the return address and instructions. Items must be unused and in their original packaging.

Do I have to pay for return shipping?

No. On approved returns, we provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you. Please note that a return should never be sent to the manufacturer's address; only to the address our team provides.

I received a damaged or defective item. What should I do?

We are sorry to hear that. If a parcel arrives visibly damaged, please refuse delivery if you can, then contact us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and a photo of the item. We will prioritise your request and arrange a replacement or refund in line with our Refund Policy.

Can I change my mind after ordering?

Yes. If you change your mind within 24 hours of placing your order, before it has been processed, we will refund you right away. After an order has shipped, please follow the standard return process described above.
