The stems lit against an ochre garden wall beside worn stone steps

Stems No Thicker Than a Plant Stem, Which Is Why They Vanish by Daylight

The problem with lighting a border is that the fixtures are visible for twelve hours a day and useful for four. Bollards, spikes and mushroom heads all read as hardware standing in the planting, and no finish fixes that. These stems are drawn to the thickness of the plants around them: a dark line a fraction of an inch across, bending at the top the way a seed head does. From the terrace in daylight you read the planting and not the lamp. At night the light arrives from head height in small pools, and the stems themselves stay invisible because there is almost nothing there to catch the glow.

Questions about this product

Everything you need to know about this product.

What is the difference between the three?

The spread of the foot and the number of stems, not the height. All three stand 39.4 inches tall; the 5.1 inch foot carries a tight group and the 11.8 inch one spreads the stems much wider apart.

Do the heads glare?

Each cone points straight down with the LED recessed inside it, so what you see from a seat or a window is the lit gravel underneath rather than the source itself.

Where does it suit?

In a border, a gravel bed or against a render wall where the stems have something to stand in front of. On open paving the cluster loses the contrast that makes the thin stems read at all.

Is it stable in wind?

The stems flex, which is part of the effect, and the mass is in the foot. In an exposed position fix the base down rather than leaving a tall cluster standing free on a hard surface.

How is it wired?

Hardwired on AC 110-240V brought up under the foot and terminated in a weatherproof connection. Switching is done upstream on the house circuit, so no switch travels with the cluster.

Can it stay out all year?

The IP65 rating covers dust and water jets from any side, which puts rain and a sprinkler pass well inside what the cluster is built for. Do not immerse it. Wipe the cone heads when they collect dust, since they face down.

Three Spreads at One Height, Which Changes How Much Ground Each One Covers

All three of these stand 39.4 inches tall and that is deliberate: a run of them keeps one horizon line whatever you choose. What changes is the foot. At 5.1 inches the stems bunch together and throw one tight group of pools, which suits a narrow bed or a corner. At 11.8 inches they fan out and the pools land a foot or more apart, covering a wide planted area from a single wiring point. Buying up a size is not about getting a bigger object; it is about how many square feet of border one cable has to reach, which is the calculation that decides most garden lighting layouts.

Frequently Asked Questions

Shipping & Delivery

How much does shipping cost?

Shipping is free on every order, with no minimum purchase. The price you see at checkout is the price you pay for delivery.

How long before my order ships?

Orders are typically processed within 1 to 2 business days after payment. We keep a short 24-hour window before processing so that you can adjust or cancel your order if you need to. Our team places orders with our warehouses Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays.

How long does delivery take?

Once your order has shipped, it is usually in transit for about 7 to 10 days. This is an estimate and can occasionally be longer depending on the destination country and the carrier handling your parcel.

I received a damaged or defective item. What should I do?

We are sorry to hear that. If a parcel arrives visibly damaged, please refuse delivery if you can, then contact us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and a photo of the item. We will prioritise your request and arrange a replacement or refund in line with our Refund Policy.
