The Light Comes Out Through the Material Itself, Not Through a Window in It

Almost every path fixture is opaque with an aperture cut into it. This one has no aperture. The column is cast thin enough in an imitation marble that the LED inside pushes light through the whole wall, so all four faces glow at once and the top edge is brightest. What that does at night is unusual: the object stops reading as a light fitting and starts reading as a lit block of stone, which is a much older effect than LED path lighting and the reason alabaster was carved thin for lamps in the first place. It also means there is no glare point anywhere on the body, because the source is spread over every square inch of the surface.

Is the body real marble?

Real stone of this thickness would not pass light at all, and the veining you see lit is cast through the material rather than printed on the face.

Which size along a walk?

The 14.2 inch reads as a marker and suits a run every six feet. The 19.7 inch reads as a small plinth and works better on its own beside a step, a gate or a corner where one object is enough.

Wired or solar here?

Wired where the run is long and every body has to match the others in output all year. Solar where the column stands alone on a lawn or a terrace and running a cable to it is more work than the light is worth.

Does the whole column light up?

Yes, all four faces and the upper part of the body glow together. There is no bright window and no dark back, so the column reads the same from the house, the path and the lawn around it.

What does the install involve?

The solar build sits on its base and needs nothing run to it. The wired build needs a cable brought up under the body and a weatherproof connection, terminated before the paving is closed back up.

Will it survive frost and rain?

It is rated IP65 against dust and water jets from any side, so weather and sprinklers are within it. Do not immerse it. Wash the surface with water rather than solvent so the finish stays even.

Veining Cast Through the Body, Which Only Shows Itself Once the Light Is On

By daylight this is a plain pale column, quiet enough to sit beside a step without asking for attention. Switch it on and the surface changes completely: the veins that were barely visible in the material hold back a little light where they run, so the glow is broken by darker threads that wander across each face. It is the difference between a lit plastic box and a lit stone. The pattern is cast through the thickness rather than printed on the outside, which is why it survives a wet winter and why it looks the same from any angle rather than showing a picture from one side only.

Returns and Refunds

How do I return an item?

You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return on eligible items. To start, email us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and the reason for the return, and we will send you the return address and instructions. Items must be unused and in their original packaging.

Do I have to pay for return shipping?

No. On approved returns, we provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you. Please note that a return should never be sent to the manufacturer's address; only to the address our team provides.

I received a damaged or defective item. What should I do?

We are sorry to hear that. If a parcel arrives visibly damaged, please refuse delivery if you can, then contact us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and a photo of the item. We will prioritise your request and arrange a replacement or refund in line with our Refund Policy.

Can I change my mind after ordering?
