The Legs Lean Inward, and That Single Angle Is What Makes It a Lantern

Stand four posts straight up around a lit panel and you have a box with a light in it. Lean the same four posts inward and the object changes category: the lines converge toward the handle, the shape gains a top, and the eye reads a lantern the way it reads one carried on a pole in an old painting. The taper does something practical too. It holds the panel back from the legs at the bottom, where the frame is widest, so the steel stays dark in front of the glow instead of picking up light along its length. Is it battery powered?

The handle on the top plate is there for setting the lantern down where you want it, but this build is hardwired on AC 110-240V and has no cell in it. A supply has to reach the position.

What is the panel made of?

Polycarbonate acrylic, lit along its full height from inside the frame. It takes a knock from a mower or a wheelbarrow where glass at that height would not, and it spreads the output instead of showing the LED.

Which height goes where?

The 17.7 inch beside a bench, a step or a low planter, where a taller body would sit above the seat line. The 27.6 inch along a path or a poolside run, where it has to read from further off.

Why is the frame tapered?

It draws the eye up to the handle and holds the lit panel back from the legs, so the steel stays dark against the glow. A straight sided frame reads as a box and puts the panel level with the metal.

What does the wiring need?

A cable brought up under the foot and terminated in a weatherproof connection, then the frame set down on its pads. It runs from a common wall switch, which is not supplied with the fixture.

Can it stand in an exposed spot?

Yes. IP65 covers dust and water jets from any direction, which is what driving rain and sprinklers deliver. Do not immerse it, and keep the pads clear of standing soil so water drains away.

Two Heights on One Foot, So a Group Keeps the Same Setback From an Edge

Both sizes stand on the same 11.8 inch square foot, and that is the detail that makes them work in pairs. Set one of each beside a raised planter or a bench and they line up on the same distance from the edge of the paving, so the group reads as deliberate rather than as two fixtures that happened to arrive together. The 17.7 inch sits below the seat line, where it lights the ground and the legs of the furniture. The 27.6 inch carries above it and reaches further across the surface. Same frame, same panel, same footprint: only where the light lands changes, which is the calculation that decides most terrace layouts.

Returns and Refunds

How do I return an item?

You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return on eligible items. To start, email us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and the reason for the return, and we will send you the return address and instructions. Items must be unused and in their original packaging.

Do I have to pay for return shipping?

No. On approved returns, we provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you. Please note that a return should never be sent to the manufacturer's address; only to the address our team provides.

I received a damaged or defective item. What should I do?

We are sorry to hear that. If a parcel arrives visibly damaged, please refuse delivery if you can, then contact us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and a photo of the item. We will prioritise your request and arrange a replacement or refund in line with our Refund Policy.

Can I change my mind after ordering?

Yes. If you change your mind within 24 hours of placing your order, before it has been processed, we will refund you right away. After an order has shipped, please follow the standard return process described above.
