Upright Panels Held in a Frame, Which Is What Makes It a Drum
A drum shade is usually fabric stretched over a ring. Here it is stone. Upright panels of alabaster stand side by side around a metal frame, with a narrow gap of metal between each one, and fourteen E12 bulbs sit inside. The gaps are the detail that matters: they break the cylinder into vertical stripes of light, so the object reads as a series of lit slabs rather than as one glowing tube. Four diameters from 19 to 58 inches, in a black, brass or silver frame. Metal with alabaster, bulbs supplied, hardwired.
