How far does it reach from the wall?

13.4 inches, measured from the plate to the center of the dome. That clears most nightstands, which is what lets the light land on a book instead of on the wall behind your shoulder.

Can I point the dome where I want?

Yes. The joint under the knurled socket tips the dome down onto a nightstand or up to wash the wall above. Set it once for reading and it stays there until you move it again.

Which bulb does it take?

One standard E26 bulb, not included. A warm white LED around 2700K suits the ceramic and the brass. Anything above 3000K turns the white shade cold and fights the warmth of the metal.

Will a pair match exactly?

Closely rather than exactly. The dome is shaped and glazed by hand, so the depth of the pleats and the tone of the glaze vary a little. On a pair either side of a bed it reads as craft, not as a fault.

Does it need an electrician?

Yes. It is hardwired to a wall junction box. The brass pull chain switches it at the fitting, and it can also be wired to a wall switch if the room already has one on that circuit.

Can it go in a bathroom?

It is rated IP20, with no protection against water. Brass in a room that fills with steam will spot and dull faster than it should, so keep it to dry bedrooms, studies and hallways.

You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return on eligible items. Items must be unused and in their original packaging.

No. On approved returns, we provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you. Please note that a return should never be sent to the manufacturer's address; only to the address our team provides.

I received a damaged or defective item. What should I do?

We are sorry to hear that. If a parcel arrives visibly damaged, please refuse delivery if you can, then contact us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and a photo of the item. We will prioritise your request and arrange a replacement or refund in line with our Refund Policy.
