Most wall lights only exist after dark. During the day they are hardware waiting to be switched on, which is why so many rooms end up with fittings nobody looks at until the evening. This one works in both states and does something different in each. In daylight it reads as a carved wood form on the wall, a ribbon that rises, folds and returns, with the grain following the curve and no visible lens, socket or trim to give away what it is. After dark a narrow cone of warm light drops from the underside of the fold and runs down the plaster, and the object above it stays dark. Nothing glares, because the source sits deep enough in the form that it cannot be seen from the room.

Can you see the light source?

From the room, no. It sits in the underside of the fold, aimed down, so from any normal standing or sitting position the wood hides it completely. That is why the piece has no glare at eye level, which is unusual for something this size.

Where does the light actually go?

Straight down, in a fairly narrow cone onto the wall and whatever sits below. It is not an uplight and it does not wash sideways. Treat it as accent and ambient light rather than as the fitting that lights the room.

Is there a bulb to buy?

The LED is integrated at a warm 3000K, which is what allows the source to be buried this deep in the form. Nothing is ordered separately and nothing is swapped later.

How large is it on the wall?

Dia 38.5 x H 30.5 cm, so it reads as a wall piece rather than a light fitting. Above a bed, a bench or a console it earns that space. On a narrow strip between a door and a corner it will feel crowded.

Which finish should I choose?

The pale wood keeps the grain and the carved curve most legible and suits a warm room. The walnut is darker and reads as a heavier form. The black removes the grain entirely and turns the piece into a silhouette, which is the right choice if you want the light and not the wood.

How do I clean it?

Let it cool. Dust the curve with a soft brush, working along the form, and wipe with a barely damp cloth along the grain. Dust inside the fold carefully, since the recess around the source collects it.

Thirty Eight Centimeters Across, So One Fitting Can Hold a Wall on Its Own

At Dia 38.5 x H 30.5 cm it is closer in presence to a small piece of wall art than to a sconce, which means it does not need anything hung around it. Above a bed, over a bench, on the open run of a living room wall, it becomes the thing you notice and the light is almost secondary. That also sets the limit. On the narrow strip between a door frame and a corner, or squeezed beside a tall wardrobe, the form has nowhere to sit and the piece reads as too much. Measure the clear wall first, then choose the finish.

How do I return an item?

You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return on eligible items.
