No Supply Behind It, Which Is the Only Way to Light a Wall You Are Not Allowed to Cut

Every other fitting in this range needs either a junction box or an outlet within about six feet. This one needs neither. The battery is in the bar, the charging cable comes in the box, and the mount takes two screws or a pad. That changes what is possible rather than just what is convenient: a chimney breast with no circuit, a plaster wall in a rented flat, a stairwell where the nearest socket is on another floor, a picture that hangs on a partition you are not going to chase. It also means the fitting can be taken down, charged at a desk and put back, so a display light can be moved to a different wall in an afternoon. The cost of all that is runtime, and four hours is the number to plan around.

How long does a charge last?

Turned down it lasts longer, and the timer exists to stop it draining overnight. Plan it as a fitting you switch on for an evening rather than one that stays lit through a working day.

How does it charge?

Through a USB cable, included, from a power bank, a laptop or a USB wall adapter. There is a port on the back of the bar, so most people lift the bar off its mount to charge it and put it back. Nothing is wired into the wall at any point.

Can I really mount it with adhesive?

Screws are the honest answer on a long bar: at 100 and 120 cm the fitting has real length and leverage, and adhesive pads on plaster or wallpaper are a risk. On the 60 cm bar, on a clean flat surface, adhesive is reasonable and it is what makes this usable in a rented room.

Which light color should I use?

All three are on the fitting, so you can change your mind. Warm 3000K for oils, wood and gilt frames. Neutral 4000K for a photograph, a print or a mirror where color accuracy matters. Cool 6000K is bright and clinical, and it is rarely the right choice above art.

Can it go in a bathroom?

On a dry wall, yes, and the photography shows it above basins. The rating is IP20, meaning no water protection, so keep it clear of the shower and of spray. A battery fitting in a wet room also has a second issue: the port and the sensor are on the body, and steam reaches them.

What is the remote for?

On and off, brightness and light color, from anywhere in the room, plus the timer. It matters more here than on a wired fitting, because there is no wall switch: without the remote the only control is the touch sensor on the bar itself, which means reaching up to a fitting mounted above a picture.

Four Lengths to 47 Inches, With Three Light Colors Chosen on the Fitting Itself

Two things set this bar apart from the rest of the group. The first is reach in length: at 120 cm it is the widest fitting here, wide enough for a long double vanity mirror or a gallery wall arrangement that the 80 cm bars cannot cover. The second is that the light color is not fixed. Warm, neutral and cool are all in the fitting and switch from the remote, which is unusual on a picture light and useful in a room where the wall changes: warm for an oil, neutral for a framed photograph, and back again when the art is rotated. On the other bars in this range that decision is made once, at the factory, and cannot be revisited without replacing the fitting.

Returns and Refunds

How do I return an item?

You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return on eligible items. To start, email us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and the reason for the return, and we will send you the return address and instructions. Items must be unused and in their original packaging.

Do I have to pay for return shipping?

No. On approved returns, we provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you. Please note that a return should never be sent to the manufacturer's address; only to the address our team provides.

I received a damaged or defective item. What should I do?

We are sorry to hear that. If a parcel arrives visibly damaged, please refuse delivery if you can, then contact us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and a photo of the item. We will prioritise your request and arrange a replacement or refund in line with our Refund Policy.

Can I change my mind after ordering?

Yes. If you change your mind within 24 hours of placing your order, before it has been processed, we will refund you right away. After an order has shipped, please follow the standard return process described above.
