Strip a vanity light down to a two inch rod and a round hub and there is nothing left to admire, which puts all the weight on what comes out of it. Two numbers carry that. Ra90 is the color rendering, high enough that skin, makeup and fabric keep their true color under the bar rather than shifting warm. And the lumens track the length, 1320, 1980 and 2640 across the three sizes, so a wide mirror is not left dimmer per inch than a narrow one. The gold version warms a room with brass taps and a gilt frame. The black one recedes against tile and glass and lets the mirror do the talking.

What length suits my mirror?

Take about two thirds of the glass width. A mirror under 30 inches wide takes the 27 inch rod, a 30 to 45 inch mirror the 38.5 inch, and anything wider the 50 inch. A rod that overruns the mirror lights bare wall on both sides, which reads as a mistake from the doorway even when nobody can say why.

What does Ra90 mean in practice?

It is a measure of how faithfully the light renders color against daylight, on a scale where 100 matches daylight exactly. At Ra90 skin tones, makeup and fabric hold their color under the bar instead of shifting warm or gray. Over a vanity that matters more than raw lumens, which is why we publish the figure.

Can I dim it?

Only if you order the dimmable build, and only with a TRIAC dimmer, also sold as a leading edge dimmer. The standard build runs from an ordinary push switch and is not dimmable. Both builds carry the same Ra90 rendering, so the dimmable version costs nothing in light quality.

How far does it stand off the wall?

Eight centimeters, about 3.1 inches, on every length. That is enough to wash a mirror and a face in front of it. It is not enough to light a canvas in a deep frame, because the beam leaves the rod too close to the plaster and clips the top of the molding on its way down.

Does it need an electrician?

Yes. It is hardwired, so the plate covers a junction box and the supply comes through the wall. Above a mirror that usually means planning the box before the tiling goes on, which is the part people find out about too late.

Can it go in a bathroom?

Above the mirror on a dry wall, yes. The rating is IP20, so it has no protection against water. Keep it out of the shower zone and clear of direct spray.

What changes is the geometry. Above a mirror the light only has to reach the glass and the face in front of it, and 8 cm of projection is plenty. Above a framed piece the beam has to clear the front edge of the frame before it lands, and 8 cm will not do that for a deep molding or a stretched canvas. So use it freely over flat prints, shallow frames and open shelving, and reach for a bracket with real projection when the frame stands proud of the wall.

How do I return an item?

You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return on eligible items. To start, email us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and the reason for the return, and we will send you the return address and instructions. Items must be unused and in their original packaging.

Do I have to pay for return shipping?

No. On approved returns, we provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you. Please note that a return should never be sent to the manufacturer's address; only to the address our team provides.

I received a damaged or defective item. What should I do?

We are sorry to hear that. If a parcel arrives visibly damaged, please refuse delivery if you can, then contact us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and a photo of the item. We will prioritise your request and arrange a replacement or refund in line with our Refund Policy.

Can I change my mind after ordering?

Yes. If you change your mind within 24 hours of placing your order, before it has been processed, we will refund you right away. After an order has shipped, please follow the standard return process described above.
