Most ceiling fixtures put a painted or plated band around the edge. This one puts stone there. Yellow travertine is porous, laid down over geological time by mineral-rich water, and its pores and veins are structure rather than decoration. Running that material around the outline gives the fixture a surface that changes with the light in the room: the pores catch shadow in daylight and soften under the lamp at night. A dark walnut edge caps the stone on top and holds the two materials together, which is what keeps the freeform outline from reading as shapeless. The lit face stays plain white acrylic, so the output is even while the character sits on the rim. Is the travertine real stone?

Yes. The maker uses yellow travertine, a stone formed in the natural environment through physical and chemical change over geological time. Vein pattern, pore distribution and tone are specific to each piece and cannot be selected or repeated, so the fixture you receive carries its own markings rather than a printed copy of the photograph.

How thick is the fixture?

Both sizes stand 2.8 in or 7 cm from the ceiling, which is shallow enough to clear the head height of anyone standing under it. The smaller measures 21.7 in or 55 cm across, the larger 26.0 in or 66 cm, so the width changes while the profile stays the same.

Which color temperatures are offered?

The integrated LED comes in warm light at 3000K, neutral light at 4000K and cool light at 6000K. Warm light suits a bedroom, neutral light reads cleaner over a living room seating area, and cool light is the brightest of the three. The temperature is set when the order is placed.

What controls the light?

The fixture is hardwired and works with a common wall switch, which is not included with the light. The switch connects to an external wall light switch that controls the supply, so the circuit is opened and closed on the wall rather than at the fixture itself.

Can it be installed in a damp room?

No. The maker rates this fixture IP20 and describes it as suitable for indoor use only where it cannot be exposed to moisture. A bathroom, a laundry room or a covered porch falls outside that rating, so the fixture should go in a dry room such as a bedroom or a living room.

What finishes are available?

In a flat with 2.4 m ceilings, a pendant on a 30 cm drop sits inside the field of view of anyone standing up; a fixture 7 cm deep stays above it. The two diameters, 55 and 66 cm, then decide presence rather than clearance. Over a bed or a reading corner the 55 cm version is enough. Across an open living room where the ceiling runs uninterrupted for several meters, the 66 cm version holds the space without a drop. The integrated LED is sealed inside, so there is no bulb to reach for once the fixture is up.

Returns and Refunds

How do I return an item?

You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return on eligible items. To start, email us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and the reason for the return, and we will send you the return address and instructions. Items must be unused and in their original packaging.

Do I have to pay for return shipping?

No. On approved returns, we provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you. Please note that a return should never be sent to the manufacturer's address; only to the address our team provides.

I received a damaged or defective item. What should I do?

We are sorry to hear that. If a parcel arrives visibly damaged, please refuse delivery if you can, then contact us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and a photo of the item. We will prioritise your request and arrange a replacement or refund in line with our Refund Policy.

Can I change my mind after ordering?

Yes. If you change your mind within 24 hours of placing your order, before it has been processed, we will refund you right away. After an order has shipped, please follow the standard return process described above.
