Cut Metal Leaves at the Crown and the Base Break Up a Hard Cage Outline

A six sided cage is all straight lines and corners, and on a small fitting that can read as severe. The leaves change it. A spray of cut metal foliage sits over the top of the cage and curls down around the chain fitting, and more of it closes the base under the lamps, so the silhouette softens at both ends and the straight uprights become the quiet part of the design rather than the whole of it. How many lamps does it take?

Three E14 candle lamps at 15W each, standing on a curled base inside the cage. Three is right for the diameter: enough to fill the frame with light without the lamps crowding each other or reading as a bright cluster from below.

Is it big enough for a room?

It is 11 inches across, which makes it a hall, landing or nursery fitting rather than a room light. Over a dining table it would look stranded. In a narrow hall or above a crib it is exactly the right scale.

Is a bulb included?

The lamps are left to you. The cage is open so the bulbs are visible: plain frosted candle lamps keep the cut leaf work as the thing you notice, while clear filament lamps compete with it and pull the eye to the bulbs instead.

Will it suit a nursery?

It does, and it is often used that way. The scale is right above a crib, the leaf detail reads as decorative rather than industrial, and the pale gray finish sits with painted furniture. Keep it clear of the crib itself when you set the drop.

Can it be dimmed?

The fitting has no dimmer. Three dimmable E14 candle lamps on a compatible wall dimmer will dim it, which is worth having in a bedroom or a nursery where a low overhead level is more useful than a bright one.

What is the finish like?

A pale sanded gray over metal, worked back so the surface has a little texture rather than a flat sprayed coat. It reads almost white in daylight and warmer under lamp light, which suits a painted hall or a pale bedroom.

Eleven Inches Across, Which Puts It in Halls and Above Cribs Rather Than Tables

Size decides where a fitting belongs more reliably than style does. At 11 inches across and 17.7 inches tall this is a small chandelier, and small chandeliers earn their keep in the places a large one cannot go: a narrow hall where a wide fitting would catch shoulders, a landing at the top of the stairs, a nursery above a crib, a small bedroom. It also means the drop can be short without the piece feeling heavy overhead. Over a dining table or in an open living room it simply has not got the presence to hold the space.

Returns and Refunds

How do I return an item?

You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return on eligible items. To start, email us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and the reason for the return, and we will send you the return address and instructions. Items must be unused and in their original packaging.

Do I have to pay for return shipping?

No. On approved returns, we provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you. Please note that a return should never be sent to the manufacturer's address; only to the address our team provides.

I received a damaged or defective item. What should I do?

We are sorry to hear that. If a parcel arrives visibly damaged, please refuse delivery if you can, then contact us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and a photo of the item. We will prioritise your request and arrange a replacement or refund in line with our Refund Policy.

Can I change my mind after ordering?
