The Wire Stays Dark While the Globe Glows, and That Contrast Is the Design

Two materials, two jobs, and neither is trying to do the other one. The polyethylene globe inside is soft and even, with no bright spot anywhere on it, which is what makes the lantern comfortable to sit beside at close range. What is the difference between the two sizes?

Width only. Both stand 15 inches tall and both draw about 3 watts, so the taller look of the wide one comes from its spread rather than its height. The 23.6 inch reads on open ground, the 15.7 inch on a path edge.

Does the cage block much light?

Very little. The wires are thin and widely spaced, so what they add is a pattern of curved shadows across the lit globe rather than a loss of output. The effect is strongest seen from a low angle, sitting down.

What battery does it use?

That is worth knowing on a solar light, because the battery is usually the first part to reach the end of its life.

Is there a remote?

There is no remote on this model. It works with common push switches, and it runs on its dusk sensor without any input, which is how most people use a low wattage garden light anyway.

Where does it look right?

Low and in groups: along a path, on wide steps, in a gravel border, at the edge of a lawn. At 15 inches it sits below the furniture line, and with nothing to install it can be moved along the run until the spacing looks right.

Can it stay out in winter?

It is rated IP65, dust tight and protected against water jets, so rain and frost are within it. Do not immerse it. Brush snow off the flat lid, because a covered cell stops charging completely.

Fifteen Inches Tall on Both Sizes, So It Sits Below the Furniture Line

The two versions here are 15.7 and 23.6 inches wide and both are exactly 15 inches tall. Keeping the height fixed is the useful decision. At 15 inches the lantern sits below the seat of a chair and well below a table top, so a run of them along a path or across a terrace marks the ground without blocking the view across it from a seated position. Widening rather than heightening the larger size gives it presence on open lawn while keeping that same low sight line. It is a light for the floor of a garden, and it stays there.

Returns and Refunds

How do I return an item?

You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return on eligible items. To start, email us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and the reason for the return, and we will send you the return address and instructions. Items must be unused and in their original packaging.

Do I have to pay for return shipping?

No. On approved returns, we provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you. Please note that a return should never be sent to the manufacturer's address; only to the address our team provides.

I received a damaged or defective item. What should I do?

We are sorry to hear that. If a parcel arrives visibly damaged, please refuse delivery if you can, then contact us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and a photo of the item. We will prioritise your request and arrange a replacement or refund in line with our Refund Policy.
