Small G9 Capsules Inside Closed Glass, Which Is Why the Globes Look Empty

This fitting uses G9 lamps rather than the usual E26 screw base, and that choice is what makes it work. A G9 is a small two pin capsule barely bigger than a thumbnail, so inside a white glass ball there is nothing to see: no filament, no metal cup, no shadow of a socket. The globe reads as a solid sphere of light. Two practical notes. Fit LED G9 lamps of 3W to 5W, because a halogen capsule of the same size runs hot inside closed glass. And buy a spare or two when you order, since G9 is less common in a kitchen drawer than a screw base lamp.

What is the glass like?

White glass balls, one per arc, listed as glass alongside wood and brass. They diffuse rather than show the lamp, so you get an even glow and no visible filament.

Which lamps does it take?

G9 lamps, one per globe, not included. G9 is a small two pin capsule, so it disappears inside the ball. An LED G9 of 3W to 5W in warm white is the sensible choice and runs cool inside closed glass.

Is the column real walnut?

It is built from glass, wood and brass. The column and the small collars under each globe are the wood parts, in a walnut tone. The arcs and canopy are brass finished.

Do the globes sit at one height?

On the three and six light, yes. On the eight and ten light the arcs spring at two levels, so the globes stagger. That gives the larger sizes depth instead of a flat ring.

Which size for a dining table?

Six at 65 cm for a table of four to six, eight at 83 cm for six to eight. The ten light at 96 cm is for a long table or a large living room, and it needs clear space around it.

Can the globes be removed to clean?

Each ball unscrews from its collar once the lamps are cool. Wash in warm water with a little detergent, dry fully, and refit one at a time so none of them swap position.

On the Larger Sizes the Arcs Spring at Two Levels, Which Adds Real Depth

Look closely at the eight and ten light builds and the globes are not all at one height. The arcs leave the column at two different points, so half the spheres finish lower than the others. That is what keeps a wide fitting from reading as a flat disc seen from the doorway, and it lets the walnut column stay visible through the gap rather than disappearing behind a solid ring of glass. On the three and six light every arc springs from one collar, which is the right call at that width. So the choice between six and eight is not only about brightness: it changes the shape of the thing on your ceiling.

Returns and Refunds

How do I return an item?

You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return on eligible items. To start, email us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and the reason for the return, and we will send you the return address and instructions. Items must be unused and in their original packaging.

No. On approved returns, we provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you. Please note that a return should never be sent to the manufacturer's address; only to the address our team provides.

I received a damaged or defective item. What should I do?
