Most ceiling fixtures decide what the light will look like before you buy them, because the shade does the work. This one does not. A knurled brass socket, a clear glass shade and nothing else means the bulb is the design: a vintage Edison filament gives a warm point of light and a visible coil, a frosted globe gives a soft sphere, a bright LED gives usable working light. That makes the fixture unusually flexible and unusually dependent on one decision. The glass is there to finish the shape and keep the bulb out of reach rather than to soften anything, which is why the maker leaves it clear in both the brass and the black version.

Which size should I choose?

Four are offered: 4.7 in across by 7.1 in high, 6.7 by 7.5 in, 7.1 by 7.9 in and 7.1 by 8.7 in. The smallest suits a closet, a landing or a narrow corridor. The three larger ones differ mainly in the depth of the glass, which changes how much of the bulb is enclosed.

Does the bulb show?

Yes, and that is the design. The shade is clear glass with no diffusion, so the bulb inside is fully visible from the floor. A vintage Edison filament suits that arrangement; a frosted or opal LED bulb softens it if a bare filament is too bright for the room.

What bulb base does it use?

E26 or E27, the standard medium screw fittings in North America and Europe. The maker lists LED bulbs and vintage Edison filament bulbs as suitable. No bulb ships with the fixture, so the choice of output and color temperature is made separately.

What is the knurling on the socket?

A diamond pattern cut into the brass of the socket housing. It is the detail that carries the fixture, since there is nothing else to look at besides glass and a bulb, and it catches light the way a plain polished collar would not.

Which finishes are available?

Brass and black, and both are offered across all four sizes. Brass reads warm and traditional against a clear shade and picks up the color of a filament bulb. Black is graphic and recedes into a dark ceiling, leaving the bulb to do the work on its own. The glass itself is clear in both cases.

Can a custom version be ordered?

The maker builds custom versions of this model in its own atelier and can change drop length, cable length, canopy size, light count, sloped ceiling canopy and dimming. Send us the ceiling height and a photograph of the room and we will pass the request to the atelier for a plan.

All four sizes sit between 12 and 22 cm tall, so none of them intrudes, and the smallest at 4.7 in across fits a ceiling where even a modest shade would look oversized. The three larger versions differ mostly in how deep the glass runs, which decides how much of the bulb is enclosed and how much shows beneath the rim. Brass or black covers both a traditional and a graphic scheme, and the knurled socket is the same detail in each.

Returns and Refunds

How do I return an item?

You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return on eligible items. To start, email us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and the reason for the return, and we will send you the return address and instructions. Items must be unused and in their original packaging.

Do I have to pay for return shipping?

No. On approved returns, we provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you. Please note that a return should never be sent to the manufacturer's address; only to the address our team provides.

I received a damaged or defective item. What should I do?

We are sorry to hear that. If a parcel arrives visibly damaged, please refuse delivery if you can, then contact us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and a photo of the item. We will prioritise your request and arrange a replacement or refund in line with our Refund Policy.

Can I change my mind after ordering?

Yes. If you change your mind within 24 hours of placing your order, before it has been processed, we will refund you right away. After an order has shipped, please follow the standard return process described above.
