No Box, No Outlet, No Electrician, Which Is Often the Only Way to Light a Rented Wall

The hardwired version of this rod needs a junction box above the mirror. In a great many rooms that box does not exist, and putting one in means an electrician, a chase in the plaster and a landlord who says yes. This version removes all three. The battery is in the rod, the charging cable is in the box, and the mount takes two screws or a pad. What you gain is the ability to light a wall that was never wired for it: a rented bathroom, a chimney breast, a hallway with the nearest socket on another floor. What you give up is runtime, about 4 hours a charge, and the discipline of taking the rod down to charge it. Whether that trade works depends on how the light is used, not on how it looks.

How long does a charge last?

Dimmed it lasts longer, and the auto shutoff timer exists to stop it draining overnight. This is a fitting for an evening or for display, not one to leave on all day.

How does it charge?

Through the USB cable in the box, about a meter long, from a power bank, a laptop or a USB adapter. No wiring reaches the wall at any stage, which is the whole point of this version.

Screws or adhesive?

Screws on the 38.5 and 50 inch rods. They are long enough to have leverage, and adhesive on plaster or wallpaper is a risk at that span. On the 27 inch rod, on a clean flat surface, adhesive is reasonable and it is what makes this usable in a rented room.

How does it differ from the hardwired rod?

Only in how it is powered and controlled. Same rod, same three lengths, same three wall depths, same slim 2 inch section. The hardwired version runs from a wall switch and can be ordered as a TRIAC dimmable build. This one runs from a battery, dims from the remote, and offers three light colors on the fitting.

Which depth should I choose?

Match it to what hangs below. 3.2 inches for a flat mirror, 3.9 inches for a slim frame, 5.9 inches for a deep frame or a mirror with a heavy surround. It is a standard option at order rather than a special request.

Can it go in a bathroom?

On a dry wall, yes. The rating is IP20, so there is no water protection. Keep it clear of the shower and of spray, and bear in mind that a battery fitting has a charging port and a touch sensor on the body, which steam reaches.

Three Light Colors on the Fitting, Which Matters More on a Wall That Changes

A sealed warm LED is the right answer when a fitting will spend fifteen years above the same mirror. It is the wrong answer above a wall where the art rotates. Returns and Refunds

How do I return an item?

You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return on eligible items. To start, email us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and the reason for the return, and we will send you the return address and instructions. Items must be unused and in their original packaging.

Do I have to pay for return shipping?

No. On approved returns, we provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you. Please note that a return should never be sent to the manufacturer's address; only to the address our team provides.

I received a damaged or defective item. What should I do?

We are sorry to hear that. If a parcel arrives visibly damaged, please refuse delivery if you can, then contact us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and a photo of the item. We will prioritise your request and arrange a replacement or refund in line with our Refund Policy.

Can I change my mind after ordering?

Yes. If you change your mind within 24 hours of placing your order, before it has been processed, we will refund you right away. After an order has shipped, please follow the standard return process described above.
