Why a closed dome rather than an open shade?

Because of where it sits. Beside a bed your eye line is roughly level with the fitting, and an open shade puts the lamp straight into it. The dome closes over the top, so the light leaves downward and sideways and the source stays out of sight.

What bulb does it take?

An E14 lamp, not included. Either an LED or a filament lamp works. A warm lamp suits the white shade; keep to the wattage marked on the fitting since the dome sits close over the lamp.

Is it hardwired or plug in?

Hardwired, to an external wall switch. Plan on an electrician and a box behind the plate. If you need a plug in fitting for a rented room, tell us and we will point you at one.

Does the oak vary?

Yes. Oak is open grained and the arm is turned from solid stock, so the figure wraps around the profile and the tone shifts from piece to piece. A pair reads as two related pieces rather than two copies.

You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return on eligible items. Items must be unused and in their original packaging.

No. On approved returns, we provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you. Please note that a return should never be sent to the manufacturer's address; only to the address our team provides.

I received a damaged or defective item. What should I do?

We are sorry to hear that. If a parcel arrives visibly damaged, please refuse delivery if you can, then contact us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and a photo of the item. We will prioritise your request and arrange a replacement or refund in line with our Refund Policy.

Can I change my mind after ordering?
