How far does it stand from the wall?

5.7 inches. The frame sits flat and the beads hang free within that depth, which is what keeps it clear of an elbow at a dressing table or a shoulder in a passage.

Which bulb does it take?

One E14 candelabra size bulb, 15 watts maximum, not included. A clear or filament style bulb gives the beads a small bright source to break up, which is where the sparkle comes from.

Will a pair either side of a mirror work?

That is the arrangement it suits. Two fittings at eye level light both sides of a face evenly, which a single fitting mounted above the glass cannot do because it drops shadow under the brow.

Are internal marks in the beads normal?

Yes. The beads are cut and polished crystal glass, so tiny bubbles or fine internal lines occur. They are visible only close up and they have no effect on how the light is broken up.

Does it need an electrician?

Yes. It is hardwired to a wall junction box and runs from a wall switch. A pair either side of a mirror needs two boxes, which is worth pricing before you commit to the arrangement.

Can it go in a bathroom?

It is rated IP20, with no protection against water. Beaded strands in a steam filled room film over and have to be cleaned strand by strand, which is slower than it sounds.

This one projects 5.7 inches, which is enough for the strands to hang free and little enough to keep clear of an elbow or a shoulder at a dressing table. You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return on eligible items. To start, email us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and the reason for the return, and we will send you the return address and instructions. Items must be unused and in their original packaging.

No. On approved returns, we provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you. Please note that a return should never be sent to the manufacturer's address; only to the address our team provides.

I received a damaged or defective item. What should I do?

We are sorry to hear that. If a parcel arrives visibly damaged, please refuse delivery if you can, then contact us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and a photo of the item. We will prioritise your request and arrange a replacement or refund in line with our Refund Policy.

Can I change my mind after ordering?
