The Wall With No Power in It Is the Wall This Fitting Was Actually Made For

Most homes have one: a chimney breast, a landing, a stretch of hallway, a rented wall where drilling for a supply is out of the question. A hardwired bar needs a box there and an electrician to feed it. A plug in bar needs an outlet within reach and leaves a cord down the wall. This one needs neither. How long does a charge last?

About 4 hours of continuous light per full charge at a normal brightness. Dimmed, it runs longer. At full output over a large frame, shorter. Used the way most people use a picture light, an hour or two in the evening, that is several evenings between charges rather than a nightly ritual.

How is it charged?

Over a USB cable that comes in the box, from a wall adapter, a laptop or a power bank. Charge it before it goes on the wall. If the fitting is high up, plan for taking it down to charge or for a long cable, because that is the part people forget when they buy a cordless light.

Does it need an electrician?

That is the whole point. There is no supply, no box and no cord, so nothing is cut into the wall. Two screws hold the box, or adhesive on a wall you cannot drill, which is what makes this the version for a rented room or a chimney breast with no wiring in it.

What do the three light settings do?

They move the light between warm at 3000K, neutral at 4000K and cool at 6000K rather than holding one temperature. Warm suits a painting and an evening room. Neutral is the everyday setting. Cool is the one for close work, and the one to avoid over an oil painting, where it turns the varnish gray.

What size picture does 15.7 inches suit?

One framed piece between roughly 20 and 28 inches wide, or a small mirror. It is an accent light for a single work rather than a bar for a wide vanity. Over anything larger the ends of the frame fall into shadow, which is more obvious at night than the brochure photographs suggest.

Can it go in a bathroom?

On a dry wall, yes. The rating is IP20, which is no protection against water, and there is a charging socket on the body, so keep it well clear of the shower and of direct spray. Moisture around a USB socket is a problem long before it is a problem for the LED.

A Remote and a Timer Are What Separate This From an Ordinary Cordless Light

Cordless picture lights usually give up two things: brightness control and any way to switch them off without touching them. This one keeps both. The wireless remote handles on, off and dimming from a chair on the other side of the room, which matters for a light mounted above a frame at head height. How do I return an item?

You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return on eligible items. To start, email us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and the reason for the return, and we will send you the return address and instructions. Items must be unused and in their original packaging.

Do I have to pay for return shipping?

No. On approved returns, we provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you. Please note that a return should never be sent to the manufacturer's address; only to the address our team provides.

I received a damaged or defective item. What should I do?

We are sorry to hear that. If a parcel arrives visibly damaged, please refuse delivery if you can, then contact us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and a photo of the item. We will prioritise your request and arrange a replacement or refund in line with our Refund Policy.
