The Ribs Are Cut Into the Glass, So the Light Breaks Up Before It Ever Reaches the Table
Vertical ribs run the whole way around this shade, which is why a bare filament behind it never shows as a hot spot. The glass is 12.2 inches across and only 5.9 inches deep, so it sits low over a table without closing the room in, and the brass collar and braided cord carry the period look the rest of the way. Clear glass keeps a kitchen bright. Amber warms the whole table before the bulb has even been chosen. Dark green reads almost black until it is switched on. The cord adjusts at installation, so the drop is settled on the day.
