vintage-glass-pendant-light-opal-sphere-in-a-drum
Vintage Glass Pendant Light, Opal Sphere in a Drum

An Opal Sphere Hanging Inside a Glass Drum, Held by a Thin Metal Frame

Two pieces of glass, one inside the other: an opal sphere carrying the lamp, suspended by a thin steel frame inside an open ended drum 11.9 inches across. The drum is tinted, the sphere is not, so you see a bright ball floating inside a colored cylinder with the frame drawn across it. It is a nineteen seventies idea and it still works for the same reason it did then: the source is hidden, the object is interesting, and nothing glares.

Product sizes

Shade: ⌀ 11.9″ x H 11″ (30 x 28 cm)

Cord: shortened at installation

Weight: about 7.7 lbs (3.5 kg)

Specifications

Style: Vintage, mid century

Material: Tinted glass drum with an opal glass sphere

Finish: Clear, cognac or smoke gray glass with a black frame

Shape: Sphere inside an open drum

Light source: LED bulb, supplied

Lamp holder: E26 or E27, the standard North American screw base

Light color: Warm white or cool white, chosen at the order

Voltage: AC 90-260V

Mounting: Hardwired to a ceiling box, mounting plate supplied

Suspension: Cord pendant, shortened at installation

Coverage: About 54 to 110 sq ft (5 to 10 m2)

IP rating: IP20, so keep it away from steam and splashes

Environment: Indoor, dry locations

Certification: CE, ROHS and UL marked by the maker

Related collections

Browse Glass Pendant Lights, Vintage Pendant Lights, Globe Pendant Lights and Mid Century Modern Pendant Lights for fittings that pair with this one.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0997/8183/7096/files/vintage-glass-pendant-light-dining-table.jpg?v=1790890399
