sculptural-table-lamp-carved-wood-roots-alabaster-cube
Sculptural Table Lamp, Carved Wood Roots and Alabaster Cube

Sculptural Table Lamp with an Alabaster Cube

A cube of alabaster held up at a tilt by a handful of carved wood roots. The base is hand carved and reads as curling roots or tentacles, splayed outward so the whole piece grips the surface and the mass stays low, and the shade is a plain geometric cube of translucent stone set off axis on top. Lit, the alabaster glows from within and its veining shows through; unlit, it is a matte white block against the wood. The contrast is the point: rough organic carving against smooth translucent stone. Two sizes are offered, 39 cm across and 29 cm tall or 55 cm across and 42 cm tall, and the larger one is a floor-height console object rather than a nightstand lamp. Three carved finishes: light wood, walnut and black. The socket is E26 or E27 and takes an LED or an Edison bulb, not included, and an inline push button on the cord switches it.

Product sizes

Small: Dia 39 cm x H 29 cm (Dia 15.3″ x H 11.4″)

Large: Dia 55 cm x H 42 cm (Dia 21.6″ x H 16.5″)

Specifications

Style: Modern, boho

Material: Metal, wood and alabaster

Base: Hand carved wood in a splayed root form

Shade: Geometric alabaster cube, set at a tilt

Finish: Light wood, walnut or black, chosen at order

Light source: E26 or E27, LED or Edison, bulb not included

Power source: Plug-in

Cord: 150 cm (59.1″) with a plug

Voltage: AC 110-240V

Switch: Inline push button on the cord

Installation: None, plug it in and set it down

IP rating: 20 - not waterproof

Environment: Indoor

Certification: North America, EU, AU, Saudi Arabia

Natural stone: the veining of alabaster varies from one piece to the next

Hand carved: no two bases are identical

Related collections

Browse Alabaster Table Lamps and Living Room Table Lamps for fittings that pair with this one.
