That is a Japandi way of building a shade: the material is allowed to behave like material rather than being pulled flat. Lit, the folds shade each other and the glow is soft and uneven in a deliberate way, which is what makes it comfortable overhead in a dining room or a bedroom. It hangs on an iron chain rather than a cord, so the fixture has some visual weight above the shade. Four sizes run from 40 cm, a bedside size, to 80 cm, which is a room-scale piece. The light color is chosen at order and an LED bulb is included, covering roughly 10 to 15 square meters on 90 to 260V.
