# Title: Tall Table Lamp on Stacked Carved Wood Blocks 40 x 87 cm
## Description: Tall Table Lamp on a Base of Stacked Carved Wood Blocks At 87 cm this is the height of a small floor lamp standing on a table, which is the whole reason to buy it: on a console or a sideboard it reaches the level a room usually only gets from a pendant. The base is a stack of carved wood blocks, each one cut square and then shaped so the corners fall differently from the block below, and the pile steps outward at the bottom onto a square plinth. The grain runs across the faces rather than up them, so the wood reads as a set of solid pieces rather than as a turned column. Above it the shade is a plain 40 cm drum, wide enough to balance the mass underneath, offered in white fabric for a warm even glow or black fabric, which closes the sides and pushes the light up and down instead. The finish is walnut on both.
