# Title: Globe Table Lamp on a Wooden Sphere Base 20 x 68 cm ## Description: Globe Table Lamp on a Solid Wooden Sphere Base The globe here is the base, not the shade. A solid sphere of wood sits directly on the surface, a slim metal stem rises out of the top of it, and a tall narrow cylinder of white fabric sits on the stem. There is no foot, no plinth and no spreading base, so the sphere reads as an object resting on the table rather than as a fitting bolted to it, and the weight of the wood is what keeps the lamp standing. The proportions are deliberately stretched: 68 cm tall on a 20 cm shade, which is unusually slim for a table lamp and is why it works on a console or a sideboard where a wide shade would crowd everything around it. Two finishes are offered, a pale natural wood and a dark walnut, both turned from solid stock.
